This weekend was interesting.
As a Millennial, half of my social media feed was full of people staying home to practice “social distancing,” as the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) asked us to do earlier this month.
The other half was celebrating in large groups for various reasons: bridal showers, bachelorettes, birthday dinners, St. Patrick’s day day drinking, ski getaways, theme park outings, Sunday Brunch, Meetup events. People wanted a last hurrrah before things got worse.
Young people are socializing more as colleges are closed, and most office jobs transitioning to remote work.
Millennial’s and Generation Z Americans are young and not afraid of the Coronavirus, but are putting the vulnerable at risk.
Although we have the stronger immune systems, “social distancing” is not only about individual protection. It’s about trying to reduce the size of the threat. There is a high chance someone in their 20s is going to pass this on to someone who does not have such a strong immune…
